We have lift off!
The 6th Annual Newcastle Airshow is just about ready to take off.
The runway is clear, the planes are gleaming and aviation fans are in for a treat this year at the largest airshow still being held in KwaZulu-Natal
On Saturday, 4 June, the skies above Newcastle will again play host to a myriad of dream-machines.
‘The Newcastle Airshow, considered by many as one of the major airshows on the South African calendar, will again attract fans from all over the province,’ said Managing Director for Champ Marketing, Johan Pieters.
The Newcastle Airshow is one of few aviation events the South African Airforce identify as a show they will partake in.
‘This year, the Silver Falcon aerobatic team is back and a request for a Gripen fighter jet display has been submitted. Will we be allowed to break the sound barrier this year? Only time will tell.’
Master Power Technologies owner Menno Parsons, one of the sponsors of this years’ show, will wow the crowds with among others his P51 Mustang Sally, his Tiger Huey ZS-HGC Helicopter and the Aero L-39 Albatros fighter jet.
‘The public can look forward to some big announcements closer to the time about who will take part in this certified A-grade Airshow,’ said Pieters.
The Newcastle Airshow is a family event for all culture groups as well as aviation fans and curious residents alike.
With many food stalls, a beer garden and exciting exhibitions it promises family fun all day long.
